About Quinte West

Quinte West is a city in Eastern Ontario with a population of approximately 45,000 residents. Located on the Bay of Quinte, the city was formed in 1998 through the amalgamation of the City of Trenton and the townships of Sidney and Murray. Quinte West is positioned about 180 kilometers east of Toronto and 60 kilometers west of Kingston, along Highway 401 and the historic Trent-Severn Waterway.

The community's main urban center is Trenton, situated at the mouth of the Trent River where it flows into the Bay of Quinte. Trenton is home to Canadian Forces Base (CFB) Trenton, Canada's largest air force base and a major economic driver for the region. The city includes the charming village of Frankford to the north, and rural areas extending along the waterfront. The Trent-Severn Waterway lock system passes through Quinte West, making it a popular destination for boaters and recreational visitors.
